Lets have a look at the stats n definitions below and then discuss :
First n foremost-Total Fertility Rate in India : 2.76 children born/woman (2008 est.).
This entry gives a figure for the average number of children that would be born per woman if all women lived to the end of their childbearing years and bore children according to a given fertility rate at each age.
Total Population of India : 1.3 billion
Women’s infertility rate : 10 to 15 per cent when they are in their 20s
and goes up to 25 per cent in their 30s.
Poverty : 26% of the population is below poverty line
Malnourished children under the age of 5 years: 45%
Infant Mortality Rate : 32.31/1000 live birth
Children out of School : 50 %
Number of orphans below the age of 12 years : approx 25 million
Now, when we sit and relate all these figures, we come to a lot of conclusions. We might talk about policy change, we might talk about changing government, n blah blah...but what i can try is change the mindset of people and inspire them to adopt children.
This will eliminate a lot of problems including the pain of getting an IVF(In Vitro Fertilization) done or taking medication to be productive.
I believe, becoming parents is not about giving birth, its more about bringing up a child who is already in this world and who needs you. There are millions of these kids waiting for a hand that can support them. Can we give our hands to them? I am ready to give
Now, the call is yours!

The figures are really disturbing and are one of the reason for social disturbance too.
ReplyDeleteMost of us are associated with corporate group who are taking part in C.S.R. i.e. corporate social responsibility. We all should actively participate in CSR and try and do something good for these children.
Adoption is one option to grow them under good environment, but it is not easy as it seems to be.
Even if we dedicate our few hrs from our busy schedule and spend good time with these kids, it can bring lot of change for them.
There are lot of NGO are working child who are without parents. I request from all of you to donate atleast 10% of your one month salary for these kids. I have done that including all my office assciates and all the money is being used for their education.
Lets join the hand and take collective responsibility to shell out our time and little money for these kids so that they can see how beautiful this world is.

I think that's a great suggesion. That is one of the messgs I wanted to pass on. But I was emphasizing on adopting a child and taking care of him as your own kids.
